Cooking is my life. Even when I’m not in the kitchen, I’m thinking about food, especially BBQ. Here are some websites I’ve found recently that I think you’ll find interesting.
Here's the links:
BBQ Festivals - I love the idea of people getting together to celebrate the greatness of Barbecuing. This site is a great place to get started if you’re looking for festivals and competitions near you or just want to see what the whole thing is about.
National BBQ Association - Now that you have a flavor for festivals and competitions and want a second helping, here’s the National BBQ Association’s website. Check it out for all the greatness that barbecuing can bring.
BBQ Forums - This is a great forum site for all things BBQ and BBQ competitions.
BBQ News - And you have to have a news source for all things BBQ.
History of BBQ - I’m a firm believer in learning from history. I found this quick blurb about the history of barbecuing to be interesting, especially the part about the inventor who beat Thomas Edison and Henry Ford to the punch by inventing the charcoal briquette 20 years ahead of them.
BBQ on Wikipedia - Ever wondered what the different styles of BBQ in the US are? This link will take you to a great site that briefly explains the differences between the major regions.
Aprons for All Occasions - Every Grill Master needs an apron, even if it’s just to wipe rub off your hands and soak up beer spills.
Funny BBQ Videos - Barbecuing is supposed to be fun. If you’ve forgotten, check out a couple of these videos. (I will warn you, if you’re easily offended, this site may not be for you.)
Funny BBQ Pictures - If you have the attention span of a gnat and can’t sit through a 2 minute video, here’s some good BBQ pics.
BBQ Traveling - I love to incorporate food into my travels. Here’s a great article that discusses a North Carolina BBQ trip.
